| Stillwater Area Public Schools has formed a Wellness Committee to develop guidelines for making changes to food available within the school, provide nutrition information, promote physical activity and promote good health.
With the rise in childhood obesity and the prevalence of childhood diabetes, Stillwater Area Public Schools decided to make some significant changes to help offset some of these growing concerns. In the fall of 2005, a Wellness Committee was formed to begin the process of developing some solutions. The Wellness Committee is a collaboration of parents, students, members of the community, and district staff. The goal was to develop a wellness policy to ensure that the student's health, well-being and ability to learn are supported by healthy eating and physical activity.
Other goals of the Wellness Committee are to build a communication plan targeting students, staff and parents. Wellness information will be available for viewing on this website location.
